Ridgecrest is made up of many staff and volunteers who have dedicated a large part of their lives to growing this ministry.

Here are a few that you’re likely to see on site.

 
 

Renée & Pete McClure

Renée is the Manager here at Ridgecrest. She has been involved at Ridgecrest for over 20 years as a camper & volunteer. The opportunity came up for Renée to be involved in helping manage Ridgecrest with her gifts and experience in management through the COVID period and loves watching God meet our every need. Peter works alongside Renée and looks after the major upgrade jobs at Ridgecrest, including the weekly working bee days on a Thursday. They have 6 children, Joseph & Everly, Daniel, Paul & Jacinta, Caleb, Joshua and Jessica who all part of the team at Ridgecrest when not busy at work.

 
 

Margaret Turnbull

I became a Christian in 1999. I came to a few camps with Emmaus and while I was here on one of our camps I was Dining Room Co-ordinator. God used that camp to show me an opening for me to join the team here. That was in 2008. I have been here ever since. One of my gifts would be my servant heart, and I love that I use this gift everyday. God has taught me so much in my time here. It has been my greatest time of spiritual growth. I believe that God has brought together each person in the team at the right time. There has never been an overlap of gifts. God has used our pasts to shape us to be exactly what Ridgecrest needs when we get here. My hearts desire is to see each person that comes to Ridgecrest for a camp experience the touch and love of the Lord that only he can give.

Phil & Cath Snitch

Phil and Cath joined our team in March 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and a love for God’s ministry in Camping. Their diverse background includes running a music tuition business in Bathurst and managing a motel in Coonabarabran. Cath has also had administrative experience in Christian Camping, working with CCC Camps in Mount Victoria for several years.

Both Phil and Cath can trace their spiritual growth back to Christian camps they attended in their adolescent years. They passionately believe that God still uses Christian Camping today to draw people closer to Himself and they are excited to answer God’s call to be part of the Ridgecrest team.

Phil works as the Ridgecrest Groundskeeper, looking after our everyday maintenance needs and gardening. You will also find him helping out in the kitchen most camps, or even behind the piano (or other musical instrument) assisting in a musical capacity when invited to do so. Cath’s role is to support Renée wherever needed, both in the office and in the kitchen.
